While this book carries the RIP logo it is related in a very indirect way to the story. It is definitely not the sequel to the last batman book. That being said it is the beginning of what looks like a great story where Hush seeing the real threat that the Black Glove is posing has stepped in to claim his place as the only one to defeat batman. Like most of the Detective Comics stories this one will deal with the characters and their psychological motivation and Hush is a great character so I can’t wait to see what he comes up with. There are also some seriously weird experiments going on in the hospital and what is Hush doing to himself. It is interesting that Batman and Catwoman are teamed up in this because of their relationship in the original Hush series and I loved getting a glimps of where the bandages came from when they showed Tommy Elliot’s mom. Some of the backstory gets a little long winded if you read the Hush series but for the beginning of an arch it reads well and has set up for a lot of action. I mean and how messed up would it be if Batman was saved by one of his greatest villains?
