So those of you who have been watching have heard how much I love the Anna Matrix series from Warren Ellis on the Avatar label, so I picked up Wolfskin, also by Warren Ellis and on the Avatar label, hoping that it would be up to the same level of quality but I was sorely disappointed. There was graphic content that seamed to be just for the sake of graphic content. It didn’t add to the story and didn’t really feel necessary. The idea of the story was pretty good but it didn’t really flow that well or keep my attention. That could be because while Warren Ellis came up with the story the script itself was written by Mike Wolfer. While Mike’s been around on the indi scene for a while he just didn’t do it for me on this book. Looks like you’ve over extended yourself a bit here Mr Ellis. I did like the art though, it had a very retro style and reminded of the old books I read back in the 80’s. This book was not very good and I’d say let it stay on the shelf.
