Alright I have to admit I picked this book up strictly for sentimental reasons because I looked at the cover and saw the classic transformers that I grew up with and the first page that I flipped to had the cassette tapes flying out of Sound Wave’s tape deck. I wasn’t expecting much but this book was just a lot of fun to read. They got me from the very beginning and I was hooked by the third page laughing and totally excited to get to the next page. I mean it opens up with the constructocons transforming in the middle of New York City and telling the people that they come in peace to spread a message of unity. Just when I was like “what” they started laughing then when you turn the page they are just killing everyone on the street. It was great. The art really captures the weight and mass of the transformers and makes their presence in New York city seem realistic. I’ve never been into the Transformer books but I am so glad I picked this one up. The ending was also a total cliff hanger and I am counting the days until the next issue comes out.
